Donation of magic lantern & 4 Burtons Clay pipes.
This Magic Lantern was donated to my Archive today (28th April 2013 ) this had been in the man’s family for many years after many years of being lighted by candle it was later adapted to electric. I will give it a clean & remove rust & see if can get it going again along with using in my exhibitions.
The four Burton’s Clay pipes are in fantastic condition in various styles two of which have heads.
I am at present working on more projects & more exhibitions being put together. Watch this space for further details.
I have just purchased this from auction ( 9 April 2013 ). This will go on display at my exhibitions along with other local photographs & items. Steve Penrice Archive has over 26 years of local information & items. This includes Church history , street scenes / buildings & shop history.
Edmond Glazier door glass donated to Steve Penrice Archive by COUPER CARPETS CROSSGATE CUPAR. I have now added a frame to it & add a suitable beading.
This old framed door sign was found in Edmond glaziers storeroom when clearing out after it closed donated to Steve Penrice archive by last owner Mr Smith. The frame & glass was in a bad way paint on frame & glass was peeling due to it’s age. I had the frame paint matched stripped back to the wood to restore & repainted to same colour.
On the far left corner you can see a gas lamp donated to Steve Penrice Archive by Mr Johnston he salvaged it from Eddie Gilchrist Cobblers at Balmerino Place prior to demolition this was on the wall in back room & would have been on wall when the Central Cinema was in the premises.
I was invited along to Balmullo Rural on Thursday 4th April 2013 to do a talk on Old Cupar. Such a great night & a fantastic new hall. I had a great large wall to beam the images onto. Afterwords i was treated to a great feed. I had my scanner on hand for the photographs that were brought along scanned & given back on the spot. Thankyou to everyone at Balmullo Rural for inviting me a long.
I have just purchased this for my archive exhibition ( 1 April 2013 ). See it soon along with the other Cupar Artefacts.
